The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, in a press conference, accused the Rama government of the 2024 budget. Meta underlined that the unconstitutional closure of the Parliament only serves the state corruption of Edi Rama and the mafia's intention to hide the great abyss from the Albanians financial where Albania is located.

Meta underlined that Albania has the lowest revenue collection performance and meanwhile called the tax on free professions a scandal. 

According to Meta, the fiscal package proposed by the government has negative effects. 

"The fiscal package proposed by the Government will only have negative effects on the economy, because it continuously increases the fiscal burden for business and consumers and will increase the fiscal burden for the free professions up to 23%. This budget shows its anti-social face, because according to the different sectors, it only reduces the social expenses. There is no increase for unemployment payments. The fund for the increase of pensions for 2024 is foreseen only 4.1 billion lek (about 38 million Euro) or an increase of only 2.1% of the total fund of social security, which does not even index to the level of inflation. There is no provision for the support of families and the poorest classes from the further increase in prices in the following year and in 2024. The increase in the fiscal burden for 2024 it is based on the games cigarette excise, gambling and the increase in the taxation of free professions.This last tax, a tax that stimulates the brain drain, especially harms the highly demanded professions such as doctors and experts in various fields.
