How is it possible for the SP's votes to increase after four years filled with scandals involving ministers, mayors and senior officials, opposition politicians and analysts ask, seemingly surprised. And they also provide comparative figures: the SP received 856 thousand votes this year compared to the 768 thousand votes it received in 2021, they say.

And after asking this "crushing" question, the SP critics give their explanations about Rama's "regime" that has raised the strategy of vote manipulation to the highest level (listing all sorts of arguments with which I am not tiring the reader, because I want to stick to the stubborn numbers).

I asked this question of the SP's critics to a fifth-grade student, giving him three factual numbers for the SP's votes: 768 thousand within the country in 2021, 734 thousand within the country in 2025, and 122 thousand from abroad in 2025 (explaining that four years ago immigrants could not vote).

His answer was that the SP's votes have decreased by 34,000 within the country in four years, while the votes of immigrants cannot be compared, because four years ago they could not vote. And this answer from the fifth grader crushes the above argument of the SP's critics.

In fact, these critics have much more education than a fifth grader, but they try to hide behind an arithmetic trick to avoid talking about Berisha and Meta's magnificent 250-thousand-euro hole.

Rising above the fifth grade level, I analyzed the vote share here in each district of the Berisha-Meta alliance and the SP. The former suffered heavy losses in every district, while the latter only in some districts.

At the national level, the Berisha-Meta alliance lost 1/3 of the 2021 votes, while the SP only 4.5% (see the table below). And it is precisely this huge disparity in the number of votes here that was the reason for the huge disparity in mandates, because the diaspora votes only affected 1 mandate in Vlora (even before the counting of votes from Greece began)./ CNA
