I came across a post this morning. A crate of cherries and the price is 4000/kg. Which means 40,000 with our Albanian accounts.
I leisurely read, since I had plenty of time this morning, almost all of the people's comments on this post.
-Don't get fed up!
-Don't eat them.
-Our farmers are scumbags, they would rather rot there than sell their products cheaply.
-This is what it's like when there is neither state nor government
-Fertilizers
-The clowns….
This was the content of almost all the comments.
The curse on "our bloodthirsty villager" hurt me more.
Oh people, you should kiss that villager's hands - this is also an offensive label - because you get up in the morning, at 8, open Facebook to curse him, while he's been awake since 5 and gone to work.
The produce, tomatoes and cucumbers, cabbage and lettuce, are bought by traders for 20 hundred and sold to us 10 times more expensive than the rest of us.
Let's go to the cherries...
Cherries not 40,000 but will go for 100,000 Lek/kg. Because for 3-4 years, as a result of climate change, the trees have been blooming, some in February because it is very warm. They either do not set fruit, or are damaged by the cold that suddenly returns in March. Another part blooms in mid-April, after the "Plakat" has also gone, but in the meantime their biological cycle has passed and the flowers do not become fruit again. In certain areas, the trees still manage to produce, but there is a lot of production so the price is as if it came from Japan.
This has also affected apricots and in many areas peaches. But you don't feel these as much, because there is an influx of imported produce, where the trees are being put into greenhouses or the weather doesn't have this big of an impact.
Time has gone crazy, gentlemen, and the "farmer" is the first and most affected by this madness. He serves the trees for an entire year, and when it comes time to harvest their produce, it fails.
Because here there is no effort to work on scientific research, to produce varieties of trees and plants that adapt to new climate conditions, as humanity everywhere is trying to survive the new climate.
Until then, either eat whatever you can find, if your pockets can handle it, or keep quiet and stop cursing people with dirty hands.
At this rate, it won't be long before the cherry is declared a rare plant and preserved only in botanical gardens, or we make the berries out of plastic so we can hang them on the sideboard./ CNA
