The first speech: The sunken ship without leaving the port!

The first public speech of the President was eagerly awaited, especially since by nature Mr. Begaj was silent and did not prefer to communicate with the media!

To judge a speech, especially the first speech of the head of state held in Parliament, what was not said should be underlined.

This is not the place and the occasion to analyze the style, or the tone in which the speech was delivered. But in the first speech, the many absences impress you:

Not a word about the Parliament, its legislative role and controlling institutions.

No word on its own powers.

No word on foreign policy.

Asnjë fjalë për Kosovën! Nëse Presidenti në largim e kaloi ditën e fundit në detyrë në Kosovë, Presidenti Begaj nuk e përmendi Kosovën në fjalimin e parë!

Asnjë fjalë për diasporën shqiptare!

Problemet, sfidat dhe arritjet që ka vendi sot nuk janë abstrakte, por shumë konkrete.

Boshatisja e vendit është plagë e hapur. Asnjë fjalë për largimin nga vendi. Asnjë fjalë për largimin në masë të mjekëve dhe infermierëve ndonëse është vetë mjek në profesion!

Korrupsioni dhe kapja e shteti janë elefanti në dhomë. Dhe ky fenomen nuk përjashton deputetët - ndëshkimi para se të vijë nga drejtësia vjen nga kutia e votimit dhe Shqiperia e 2022 ende nuk po realizon zgjedhje pa probleme dhe të pakontestuara!

Vendi ka hapur zyrtarisht negociatat me BE-në, por maratona e 33 kapitujve nuk do të jetë e lehtë! Kjo maratonë transformuese nuk është vetëm për qeverinë dhe opozitën, por për gjithë shoqërinë, për institucionet dhe shoqërinë civile, për median dhe çdo qytetar të këtij vendi. Është një nga ngjarjet më të rëndësishme për vendin dhe meritonte mesazh të qartë për këdo!

Sfidat e politikës asnjëherë nuk kanë qenë të lehta! Reforma zgjedhore, (me ligj është sanksionuar edhe vota e emigrantëve) reforma territoriale janë në tryezë. Suksesin nga dështimi i ndan vetëm një vijë e hollë! Do t'i zgjidhim krizat e radhës me gjyqtar ambasadorët apo gjyqtari vendas do të jetë në lartësinë e detyrës?!

It impresses you that the first congratulations the President received were more concrete than his first speech in Parliament.
A speech for the people, for the communities about the acute issues that the country is going through, a speech that puts a finger on the wound, but also gives hope that tomorrow will be better - it was missed!

To paraphrase an old saying: the sunken ship never left the port!

Perhaps it must be admitted that it did not disappoint!

PS The second speech in the Presidency had more content than the first, but the second speech highlighted the emptiness of the first! A void that everyone wishes to be filled every day of the mandate with the institutional activity which has every opportunity to refute the weakness and lack of speeches, especially the inaugural speech. /CNA.al
