Famous actor Cillian Murphy has revealed an interesting story from behind the scenes of the new film "Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man".

During a television interview, he revealed that he had asked actor Barry Keoghan to play his son in the film through a simple message on Father's Day.

The two actors have known each other for a long time, since their collaboration in the film "Dunkirk", and the spontaneous message resulted in a new on-screen collaboration.

In the new film, Murphy returns to the famous role of Tommy Shelby, the leader of the notorious gang, while Keoghan plays his adult son, Duke Shelby.

According to the film's story, Shelby's estranged son becomes embroiled in a Nazi conspiracy, forcing the self-exiled gangster to return to Birmingham to save his family and the country.

Murphy revealed that it all started when Keoghan sent him a message wishing him a happy Father's Day. The actor decided not to waste the moment and immediately wrote: "Will you play my son in Peaky Blinders?" After a few seconds of waiting, the answer came short and clear: "Yes."

The film has been initially shown in select theaters and will be available globally on Netflix on March 20, bringing the story of the Shelby family back to the screen and a new chapter in the Peaky Blinders universe. /CNA
