Why in the Philippines Christmas is celebrated for 4 months

In the well-known and centuries-old song "12 Days of Christmas", the celebrations last less than two weeks.

However, today Christmas has become synonymous with a long season of celebrations, which in some countries starts as early as November, and sometimes even earlier. But in the Philippines, where the Christmas season is the longest in the world, the holiday lasts for four whole months, making this country special for its unique festive atmosphere.

Filipinos start celebrating in September, the first month of what are known as the "ber" months - September, October, November and December. This love of Christmas gives new meaning to the term "holiday season" and reflects their joy in celebrating.

The holiday is known as Pasko and includes a combination of imported traditions, such as the Christmas tree and Santa Claus, which have come from North American influence. Although Christmas is usually associated with snow and cold, the climate in the Philippines is tropical, with temperatures remaining warm throughout the year. In the last months of the year, although there is no snow, the air cools down a bit, bringing a mild winter atmosphere to this country near the equator.

Filipinos have turned Christmas into a holiday that is not measured in days, but in months full of light, music and joy.
