Distancing at work/ What is the most "lonely" profession

A Harvard Business Review survey found that legal professions had the highest rate of loneliness compared to other professions.

Lawyers, in particular, rank above average, showing a high level of loneliness in the workplace.

The study also identified a link between education level and loneliness.

Those with a master's degree were reported to feel more lonely in the workplace compared to those with a high school diploma.

However, those with professional degrees in law and medicine showed the highest rate of loneliness compared to others.

To measure feelings of loneliness, researchers at the University of California asked people involved in the study how often they felt lonely in the workplace, in their personal lives, and in various social contacts.

Some of the most frequent responses were:

- I have no one to talk to.

- I feel like no one really understands me.

- I feel neglected.

- Nobody knows me well.

- I feel isolated from others.

- It's hard for me to make friends.

- I feel closed and excluded from others./ CNA
