From Germany for a musical tour in Albania

60 musicians of the Wismar orchestra in Germany have traveled to Albania for a musical tour and to get to know our culture, people and country.

Frider Weinhold, who has been running a humanitarian foundation in Albania for more than 30 years, says that the orchestra has performed in Tirana, Bishnica and recently in Pogradec, while besides the music, the reason why I invited them here was to get to know the people, he says.

"It is a musical group that gives concerts in many countries of the world and this year they decided to come to Albania and Pogradec. This ensemble of 60 people was gathered especially for this tour. The group first held a concert in Rinia Park in Tirana, on then they traveled to Pogradec, they also visited Lin, then they traveled to Bishnica because I wanted them to see this part of Albania because it is their first time here. They had the opportunity to see Bishnica, the villages and the surrounding mountains", said Frider Weinhold . 

Hartwig Kessler and Renate Menzel visit our country for the first time and the culture and folklore have amazed them in Albania, so much so that they expressed the idea that a musical group should soon go to perform in Wismar, Germany.

"Here we have found a wonderful place and people. We had the opportunity to get to know new places like Bishnica, we had the opportunity to get to know the children, the people and see the possibility of how we can help more there, but we also had fun and played football there , as it was the first time for us, I have only seen Albania since I had never been here. It was very important to get to know the Albanian culture and learn about it, just like us an Albanian musical band also came to Germany, in Wismar, and we want to play folk music with them. I can say that it was a fantastic time and we are very pleased," he said. 

The musical orchestra plays for more than an hour Hollywood genre music with the most popular movie soundtracks, while after Pogradec they will hold another concert in the capital and then return to Germany. /CNA
