GOODBYE LEGEND

Former footballer of the national team and several clubs in Albania, "Honor of the Nation" Sabah Bizi closed his eyes a day ago in Shkodra at the age of 77.

In honor of his figure, the "Loro Boriçi" stadium in Shkodër opened its doors to the public this Friday, welcoming hundreds and hundreds of citizens and fans of Vllaznia and beyond, who this time the great Bizi gathered for the last time.

"Today is a sad day for all of Shkodra, sports and football in particular. Sabah Bizi is an extraordinary figure, an inspiration for the younger generations. He is the identity of the club, the identity of Vllaznia. A figure who has contributed, emotions and we as a generation have grown up with their model. He will be a figure who will always inspire.

Condolences to the Bizi family. I remember that moment when he came to the locker room. It was emotional. I have also met him on birthdays. We spoke on the phone from time to time. His arrival at the stadium and in the locker room was a source of pride. I would have proposed to the municipal council and the Municipality that the figures be immortalized not only in the heart but also in the stands. The four main stands of the Shkodra stadium should be named after the four football luminaries Sabah Bizi, Ramazan Rragamiz, Mehdin Zhega and Paulin Ndoja", said Alban Xhaferri.

"Today is a sad day, a black day for me and for all the friends of Sabah Bizi. For the family and the football community. Sabah Bizi is an icon, a legend with his contributions to Vllaznia but throughout his life. Sabahi lost his sight but was not absent from the stadium. He lived with football. On this sad day I want to express my condolences to Brikeno and the entire Bizi family but also to all the footballers and former footballers and the Albanian football community. His memory will live long because he is one of the greatest figures. The last meeting with him was on the phone, before the match with Celina when he told me, president, I want to come and watch the match. And even though he wasn't watching, he still came to the stadium. We met before in Shkodra. It is an honor for everyone that a facility or sports environment experiences the name of Sabah Bizi", said the President of the Federation, Armand Duka.

"60 years of friendship. Since we started playing football, we have never been apart, except for the last 4 months when he was in the hospital. He was perfect. We have been together even in old age. When he was on the field, he was everything. We were safe with him in the game," said Pulin Ndoja.

"Shkodran and Albanian football, its history would not be what it is without the name of Sabah Biz. He remains one of the emblems in Albanian football. If someone wants to understand a little of Sabah Biz's character, it is enough to see the story when Loro Borici called a 19-year-old boy to face a colossus like Becanbaer. Not only is it a unique story, but it can never be repeated. Condolences to all", said Rudi Vata.

"Shkodra has lost a lot today. I have Sabah as an example in life and beyond football. A good man, a good footballer, a good coach, a good friend. I have lost a dear friend. My proposal is that the Shkodra stadium be named after Sabah Bizi. He is the greatest of all time, along with Panayot Panon."

"I have had Sabahi as a friend since '68, when we were soldiers. And since that day I have not been separated from him. I spoke twice a week and when he was not well. We know who Sabahi is and there is no need to make up legends about him. Sabahi was at the top," said Faruk Sejdini.

"Sabah Bizi for me is a brilliant player who we have gathered today to take to his final home, but whose contribution will continue. We are inspired by the game and he has made us proud, my greatest fortune has been inheriting his jersey. I think Sabahi has been the best player of all time in Albanian football," said Fatbardh Jera.

"The departure from Sabah's life saddens us. As long as he is alive, you say I will go to meet him, or I will see him in Shkodra. But in the meantime I feel full and optimistic that he gave for Shkodra and Shkodra is honoring him. You are in memory, you turn into a giant, you are immortalized. If you say Vllazni, you will say Sabah and vice versa. It is impossible not to say Sabah's Vllaznia. He has left an extremely large mark on the city. Sabah was born in the alleys of Shkodra, who at school wore a rag top and told the German, wait, I am here too and why are you 17 years old? I have been very involved in sports problems in my career. But I have always had my attention on the Vllazni team. It was stuck in my chest," said Osman Mula.

"We are here today to bid farewell to the football legend. A man who belonged not only to Shkodra but to all of Albania. We have cheered, supported and cheered him on. Sometimes when we had an opponent, appreciating him highly, I have been in these positions. It seems like an unbelievable event, we as a society need such examples. We express our condolences first to the family, relatives but also to all the athletes. Shkodra will miss one of its icons," said Luçiano Boçi.

Sabah Bizi has been one of the most respected figures in our football. He has been honored with the title "Honor of the Nation". Also, in a survey evaluating footballers of the last century in Albania, Sabah Bizi was ranked second.
