Today, in the lobby of the National Opera and Ballet Theater, tributes are being held in honor of theater and cinema icon Margarita Xhepa, who passed away yesterday at the age of 91.

Family, friends, colleagues, artists and numerous citizens participated in the tributes in honor of the great actress, who left her mark on Albanian art.

Well-known actress Tinka Kurti called him a great man.

"For me, he was a great man, for me and for the people," said Tinka Kurti.

Renowned director Mevlan Shanaj, known for his collaboration with Margarita Xhepa in Albanian films, has expressed deep gratitude and respect for her figure.

"Margarita was a person who received only love from everyone. She did not know any bad words, only love and respect. She was an extraordinary actress, a great person. Margarita was unique, her name is a synonym for beauty and charm, like a pearl," said Mevlani.

Renowned actor Timo Flloko has played several roles with the great actress and during his speech he shared some of his memories with her.

"I keep the most extraordinary memories with him. It will remain unforgettable. If you see in this homage there is a visit, an arrival, a pressure of people who want to come and honor him. I have a rare memory with him, a scene from Hamlet with his mother. I have it filmed and I have it as a rare memory," said Flloko.

Margarita Xhepa was born on April 2, 1934 in the city of Lushnja. The actress has played over 150 roles in theater and has performed over 32 roles in cinema, working with the famous works of Albanian directors. Margarita Xhepa was one of the Great Ladies of Albanian theater and film, engraved in the memory of the Albanian public with brilliant roles since her beginning in the 1960s and until today./CNA
