The International Video Art Festival "Gjon Mili" opens in New York

The 3rd edition of the “Gjon Mili” International Video Art Festival (IVAF) has officially launched its program in the USA, with an impressive opening at the Producers Club Theatres, in the heart of Manhattan.

This first day of the festival in New York marks an important cultural event, where artists from around the world present their contemporary creations under the theme “The Skin of the Light”. The jury’s selection brings to the screen works that explore identity, memory, the relationship of man with nature, but also the poetic dimensions of light, sound and movement.

Jury Selection

The day’s program began with screenings from 11:00 to 13:00 and continued in the afternoon from 17:00 to 19:00. This selection features works by artists from Italy, the United States, Belarus, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, France, China and Australia.

The Inherit (USA)
Lake (Belarus)
Murphy Was An Optimist (Germany)
Elemental Feelings (United Kingdom)
Quary (USA)
Prayer of the Sea (Germany)
In the Shadow of Small Acts (Australia)
Let it Grow (China), and many more.

Evening Program

At 7:30 PM, a special program will be held with two Albanian performances:
Absence of 21 – Video Art, 7', by Sara Tafaram
Alexander – Documentary, 72', by Ardit Sadiku.
While at 9:30 PM, the evening will close with a stand-up comedy performance by Romir Zalla.

An International Cultural Bridge

The “Gjon Mili” Festival continues its mission as a cultural bridge between countries and artists, honoring the legacy of the great Albanian-American photographer and artist Gjon Mili, a pioneer of light and movement in visual art.
This 3rd edition of the festival, after Korça and Dhërmi, now brings to New York a unique artistic experience, where contemporary visual art unites different cultures, languages, and human experiences.
