The fire in Mallakastër, the situation escalates, the apartments near the

An old and abandoned warehouse in the village of Lavdan of the Municipality of Mallakastër, which contained cartridges, oil barrels and solar, continues to be engulfed in flames, while firefighters are trying to neutralize it. It is suspected that there may have been a solar deposit inside the warehouse, which served for technological processes during its use by the previous owners.

Meanwhile, the authorities have taken immediate measures and evacuated the residents of three apartments close to the warehouse due to the high risk. The firefighting forces of the Mallakastër Municipality, assisted by a firefighting vehicle from the Albpetrol company, are continuing efforts to extinguish the fire, which is still active and difficult to control.

Firefighters were forced to use special fire extinguishing agents to neutralize the flames, due to the difficulties in using water and the presence of dangerous materials inside the warehouse. The surrounding area, which includes an olive oil factory and a residence, remains under full surveillance by authorities, who are working to prevent the flames from spreading further./CNA
