Mail theft/ Director sent to prison, measures for the chief financial officer and the treasurer

The Durrës Court has jailed the director of the Albanian Post branch in Durrës, EM, who, together with the chief financial officer VD, 59 years old, and the cashier PD, 39 years old, stole around 700 million lek.

House arrest has been imposed on the chief financial officer and the treasurer.

According to reports, the chief financial officer and the treasurer have stated that they were forced by the director to carry out the acts.

The police announced that during the months of April and May 2026, these citizens stole around 700 million lekë which were planned to be collected from the Durrës branch of the Albanian Post, for the Shijak and Krujë branches, with the aim of distributing pensions and social assistance to the citizens of these areas./ CNA
