The police of Tirana have arrested 8 people, who practiced the illegal activity of placing sports bets, through mobile devices.

Meanwhile, 3 other people are under investigation.

The operation was carried out by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Force for Special Operations and Research and the Sector for the Investigation of Cyber ??Crimes, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana.

8 citizens were put in handcuffs and 3 others were criminally prosecuted, who practiced the illegal activity of placing sports bets through mobile devices.

Seized as material evidence, 10 mobile devices used for placing sports bets.

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Force for Special Operations and Research and the Sector for the Investigation of Cyber ??Crimes, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, following of work to identify and attack illegal activities in the field of gambling, after several months of real investigative work, have finalized the coded police operation "Last bet".

As part of this operation, the following citizens were detained:

- OR, 29 years old, FS, 37 years old, E. Sh., 36 years old, BM, 35 years old, AB, 38 years old, NT, 49 years old, IM, 19 years old, and OH, 37 years old, all living in Tirana .

During the checks carried out in the subjects of these citizens, phones were found that were used for placing sports bets and links that were used for these bets. Also, in most of the phones of these citizens, tabs and credits were found, in order to place sports bets of different customers.

During the operation, 10 mobile devices used for placing sports bets were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office, for further actions./ CNA
