"Koço Gliozheni" maternity hospital has provided details about the loss of life of the baby that was found abandoned in the garage of a building in the Yzberishti area of ??Tirana.

In the press release, it is underlined that the baby died at 10:45 on Thursday and that the clinical diagnoses are: Term birth, deep hypothermia, polytrauma, pulmonary hemorrhage, multiorgan failure and cardiorespiratory arrest.

Meanwhile, the mother who abandoned the baby has been identified, who is a 30-year-old woman with the initials EI. Initially, the latter denied that she was the child's mother and stated that she had no knowledge of the incident.

The baby's mother has stated that she abandoned the baby because her family members were not aware of her pregnancy, as she is not married.

Maternity announcement:

As you were informed throughout the day yesterday, near SUOGJ "Koço Gliozheni", a baby born and abandoned in the premises of a garage was brought in a serious traumatic condition!

Upon arrival at the hospital, the baby was given first aid in neonatal resuscitation and after many efforts, he managed to come back to life, although in a serious condition!

For 24 hours, the medical staff fought hard to win the battle for this baby's life. Despite the work, efforts and great desire, unfortunately this was not achieved!

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of the baby's life! The baby died within the hour. 10:45, date 09.11.2023
