Tried to kill two people/ Capture of the strongman in Korça, State Police

The police operation codenamed "Storm" is being finalized by the investigation structures of the Vlora DVP, in cooperation with the Operational Force Directorate in the Criminal Police Department at the DPPSh, for the capture of a citizen with high social risk, wanted for attempted murder.

The 43-year-old wanted man, who was located in Korça and who, in July, attempted to kill two citizens with a firearm in a bar in Saranda, has been arrested.

The 43-year-old, at the time of the arrest, was armed with a firearm, with a cartridge in the chamber, ready to fire.

Also in handcuffs was a citizen who was sheltering him in the city of Fier and helping him evade the Police, previously charged with illegal possession of weapons, also within the framework of this operation.

A total of 5 firearms (4 pistols, all with magazine, and 1 automatic), a part of a silencer mechanism, binoculars for use in dark conditions, a drone, and around 600 rounds of ammunition were seized during the operation.

Following operational actions based on information obtained through operational channels, for the capture of wanted persons, in relation to the event that occurred on 17.07.2025, in neighborhood no. 3, Saranda, where after a conflict for weak motives, 2 citizens were injured with firearms, the services of the Vlora DVP, specifically the structures for the Investigation of Serious Crimes, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Operational Force in the Criminal Police Department at the DPPSh, under the direction of the Saranda General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, made it possible to capture and detain the citizen:

• RZ, alias RC, 43 years old, resident of Saranda, against whom, by the decision of 24.07.2025, of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda, the personal security measure "Arrest in prison" has been imposed, for the criminal offenses "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", remaining in the attempted stage, and "Unlicensed production and possession of weapons and ammunition".

During the search carried out at the time of the arrest, in the city of Korça, a pistol firearm was found and seized from this citizen, with a cartridge in the chamber, ready to fire.

Also, during the operation, citizen AI, 50 years old, resident of Fier, who was hiding and sheltering citizen RZ, was arrested.

The 50-year-old was previously wanted for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized production and possession of weapons and ammunition", after thanks to information obtained operationally and the work of the structures of the Vlora DVP, in cooperation with the Directorate of the Operational Force in the Criminal Police Department at the DPPSh, following operational actions to finalize this operation, a search was carried out specifically in the apartment of citizen AI, in the city of Fier, where it was suspected that the wanted citizen RZ was hiding.

During the search of this apartment, an arsenal of weapons and other items was found and seized, specifically: 3 pistol firearms, all with cartridges, an automatic firearm, a part of a silencer mechanism, binoculars for use in dark conditions, a drone and around 600 combat cartridges.
