Attempted illegal crossing/ Vehicle with 7 people blocked in Tushemisht

A vessel with 7 people on board, who had illegally crossed the lake line, was seized and blocked. Administrative measures were taken against each of them, according to the law.

The Border Police Services, in cooperation with the Maritime Police Unit, while patrolling the coastline, with the aim of guaranteeing public order and safety in tourist areas, observed a Jet Ski type vessel in front of the village of Tushemisht, which was sailing in the territorial waters of Albania, with 7 people on board.

The verifications carried out revealed that the vehicle had crossed the state border illegally. It, along with the people on board, was escorted to the Police Station for further procedures.

At the end of the verifications, pursuant to Law No. 127, dated 15.10.2020 “On Watercraft”, Article 14, point 1, letter “b”, an administrative measure of 10,000 lek was imposed on a minor citizen, while based on Law No. 39, dated 26.06.2025 “On State Border Control”, Article 35, point 5, letter “d”, administrative measures of 50,000 lek were imposed on each of the 6 adult citizens.

The vessel was blocked, while the citizens will voluntarily leave the Tushemisht checkpoint./CNA
