Substance in the form of chewing gum in schools/ Police start verifications

A teacher has identified a substance that circulated in a 9-year-old school in the capital, which caused sleepiness among students.

The teacher has notified parents and colleagues about this substance, in the form of chewing gum.

This case was reported by the journalist Mentor Kikia, who called on the authorities and parents to be careful.

A reaction has also come from the police.

The Blues have stated that after concerns were raised on social networks, verifications and investigations have begun.

"Regarding a news published today, in several media and portals, in which it is stated that in a school in Tirana, the case of the use of a chewing gum that makes children sleepy has been documented, we inform you that:

Immediately after the publication, the Police Services contacted the principals and teaching staff of all schools in Tirana, and are conducting checks to verify the case in question.

The Local Directorate of the Tirana Police calls on all citizens to notify the Police immediately in case of detection of these substances.
