The truck driver hid 88,000 euros/ How was he caught in the Port of Durrës?

As a result of detailed checks at the entry/exit of Albania, in order to guarantee the legal and safe movement of citizens and goods, the Investigation Section and ZMPKT Durrës, in cooperation with the Border Police Station of the port of Durrës, finalized the police operation coded "Pakot", during which citizen EB, 34 years old, resident in Tirana, was arrested in the act.

Based on the information provided by the police intelligence, the truck driven by the 34-year-old man was sent to the second line for a more detailed check, with modern methods. From the checks, this citizen was found hidden on his body and in his bag, for the purpose of not declaring, 88,000 euros (divided into 4 packages wrapped in natriban) that have a suspicious source, while in the truck, 18 bottles of wine were found that it is suspected that they are smuggled, because they were not accompanied by a purchase receipt.

The procedural materials were passed to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, for further investigation, for the criminal offenses "Empropriation of money or goods derived from a criminal offense or criminal activity", "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border" and "Smuggling of goods" for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension from customs or excise duties"./ CNA
