They were sheltering in an abandoned building/ Border Police catch 16 illegal

Korça Border Police have identified and detained 16 illegal immigrants of various ages and nationalities, who were sheltering in an abandoned building in the village of Qatrom.

According to preliminary information, the migrants were hiding in a building near the Qatrom tekke, while during the police intervention it was found that one of them had health problems, having sprained his leg. Immediately after the notification from the border police, an ambulance arrived at the scene to provide first medical aid.

Sources indicate that controls have been increased by the Korça Border Police, with the aim not only of identifying illegal immigrants, but also of identifying the persons who help these citizens move towards Tirana or other cities in the country.

Controls in the area continue, while the migrants are being sent to the Border and Migration Directorate in Korça for further action.
