SPAK completes investigations into Laert Haxhiu's group/ Murders and crimes of 9 defendants

The Special Prosecutor's Office completed the preliminary investigations and sent the case for Laert Haxhiu's group to GJKKO.

Lulzim Spahija (Arabia) has been charged in this case; Artan (Marjus) Tafani; Ligor Romacka; Bledar Barber; Erisiano Abedini; Bujar Abedini; Mariglen Topuzi; Idriz Manej; Enriko Xhahysa, who are accused of cooperation in the special form of a structured criminal group and the commission of criminal offenses within it, (provided by articles 28/4, 333/a, 334 of the Criminal Code).

This structured criminal group is accused of having committed the following criminal acts:

"Destruction of property with explosives" to the detriment of citizen Arian Aliço, event that occurred on 04.05.2021 in Lushnjë;

"destruction of property with explosives" to the detriment of citizens, Besnik Çoku and Erion Çoku, event that occurred on 29.05.2021, 02:15, "Gafurr Muço" neighborhood, building No. 4, Lushnjë;

"premeditated murder", committed for interest, with the victim Çajup Selimi, event that happened on 01.06.2021, at 21.15, in Tepelena;

"premeditated murder" occurred on 02.06.2021, with the victim Fridman Xhaferraj, whose body was found dead on 13.06.2021, at the Gjançi reservoir, in Korça;

"premeditated murder", carried out for interest, with the victim Alban Semaku (Elton Mermali), event that happened in the Çezme neighborhood, Peqin, on 17.10.2021;

"murder for blood feud" with the victim Albi (Dijonist) Bashaliu, event that happened in Gjoçaj, Peqin, on 27.12.2021;

"armed theft" of Gëzim Çepele's vehicle, on 27.01.2022, on the Tirana-Elbasan highway, near Palmanova fuel-bar-restaurant, Tirana;

"premeditated murder" remaining in the attempt, to the detriment of Kujtim Meta, committed for interest, which occurred on 20.04.2022, in Lushnje;

"destruction of property with explosives" to the detriment of Bashkim Rajku and Rigels Rajku (Noizy), event that occurred on 08.06.2022, in Durrës;

"destruction of property with explosives" to the detriment of Bujar Turku, event that occurred on 01.11.2022, in Lushnje;

"destruction of property with explosives" again to the detriment of Bujar Turku/Resmije Turku, event that occurred on 31.12.2022, in Lushnje;

"armed theft" of the vehicle owned by Marjus Zejneli, which happened on 22.02.2023, in Sallmone, Shijak (Durrës);

"providing the conditions and material means to commit murder" of Genci Hida in Lushnje, in the period April-May 2023;

"unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" in areas open to the public;

"unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" in large quantities;

In addition to the members of the criminal group described above, the investigation has proven the involvement of the following defendants in the commission of crimes:

The defendant, Bujar Abedini, is accused of the criminal offense of "supporting the perpetrator", which occurred on 01.06.2021, around 21:15, in the neighborhood "15 Shtatori", Tepelen, where Çajup Selimi was shot dead;

The defendant, Mariglen Topuzi, is accused of being an accomplice in the murder of Fridman Xhaferraj, on 02.06.2021, whose body was later found (on 13.06.2021) at the Gjançi reservoir;

The defendant Idriz Manej is accused of the criminal offense of "failing to report the crime", of the murder of Fridman Xhaferaj, which occurred on 02.06.2021 in Korça, whose body was taken out after a few days from the Gjançi reservoir;

The defendant, Enriko Xhahysa, is accused of being an accomplice with Artan (Marjus) Tafani, Lulzim Spahija (Arapi), Laert Haxhiu, etc. unidentified persons, in the murder for blood feud against Albi (Dijonist) Bashaliu, an event that happened in Gjoçaj, Peqin, on date 27.12.2021;

The defendant Bledar Berberi is also accused of "holding without permission and offering for sale weapons and ammunition", before the event dated 27.12.2021, in Gjocaj, Peqin, where Albi (Dijonist) Bashaliu was killed;

The defendant Artan (Marjus) Tafani is accused of committing the single criminal offense of "armed robbery" of the currency exchange point, owned by Shezai Çobo, on Tom Plezha Street, Astir, Tirana, on 24.06.2023 and "holding permit and production of weapons, explosive weapons and combat ammunition", in open spaces for the public, in the case of the arrest of Artan (Marjus) Tafani, on 24.09.2023, at the "Rio" Hotel, on the Lushnje-Fier highway, Saver neighborhood.

It has been documented that the criminal activity of this structured group extends from April 2021 to May 2023, when the leader and organizer of this criminal group, Laert Haxhiu - the person against whom the investigations continue - was arrested in Greece. , after his extradition from Greece. Laert Haxhiu, the organizer and leader of this criminal group, which included the accused; Artan (Marjus) Tafani, Lulzim Spahija (Arapi), Ligor Romaçka, Bledar Berberi and Erisiano Abedini, started committing criminal acts against the life, health and property of crime victims, as a sign of revenge for the murder of his cousin (the son of uncle) Klodian Haxhi, happened years ago and after the arrest of his close social ties, citizens Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili. Directed and organized by Laert Haxhiu, his criminal group undertook concrete criminal acts to kill people he thought were members of Aldo Bare's criminal group, whom he believed to have been involved in the murder of his cousin . The criminal acts of this structured group did not only target the life and health of the alleged opponents, but also the destruction of their property as well as acts of theft of property with the use of weapons. Apart from the murders of Çajup Selim and Albi (Dijonist) Bashali, all the other aforementioned crimes were organized, postponed and executed as a sign of revenge and for the same motives.

Investigations against Laert Haxhiu and other persons under investigation, as well as for unidentified persons, continue in the framework of criminal proceedings no. 227 of 2023.
