Alketa Hazizi revealed details from the Gërdec tragedy in March 2015, as a witness.

During her testimony at GJKKO, she said that her father-in-law lost his life in the explosion.

Hazizi stated that she was employed at the factory together with her husband and father-in-law, but none of them had received training on disassembling weapons.

She confessed that they also did not have employment contracts, while she narrated in detail the work they did.

The witness stated that the entire field was filled with gunpowder and she did not understand where the flames came from, but she heard screams and saw employees trying to leave.

"I worked for several months, my father-in-law lost his life in the explosion. We didn't have work contracts and we hadn't done any training on how to dismantle weapons. At first, together with my husband and father-in-law, we started by disassembling cartridges and then moved on to shells. The procedure was the same, we dismantled them with a hammer, removed the diabola, and then the shells were taken with a sledgehammer, while the gunpowder was bagged and sent to the warehouse. The whole field was filled with gunpowder, I didn't understand where the flames came from, I just heard the screams, flames, I looked up and saw that the fire was in the gunpowder bags. The flames were high and we had no way to put them out. Then we all tried to run away to escape.

We filled the bags with gunpowder and transported them in carts, I heard the screams, I saw the flames there, I was almost 10 meters away from the flames. The fire was in the lower part of the factory. I only know Dritan Minxolli and Vangjeli. Running away, I stepped on casualties, I fell near the main gate, I saw that it was on fire but I could not leave, I had 32% of my body burned. I have not seen Fatmir Mediu, nor do I know him. There I saw another person whose name I don't remember", said Alketa Hazizi./ CNA
