Police, action in the jewelry store/Smuggled goods are found

Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime, in cooperation with the Tax Investigation Directorate, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, following the work for the prevention, identification and suppression of criminal activity in the field of smuggling goods, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Silver".

In the framework of this operation, the citizen DB, 50 years old, was criminally prosecuted for the criminal offenses "Concealment of income", "Smuggling with other goods" and "Trading and transportation of goods that are contraband" provided by articles 180, 174 and 178 of the Criminal Code. Work is also underway to locate her son, citizen IB, 28 years old.

During the operation, control was exercised in one entity on "Muhamet Gjollesha" street, and in another in a shopping center on the Tirana-Durrës street. During the controls in these entities, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, silver accessories for which customs and tax receipts were not available and the income gained from their sale was hidden by the two suspected perpetrators.

As material evidence, silver accessories weighing 9830 grams, suspected of being smuggled, were seized. / CNA
