Millions of Euros of goods smuggling/ GJKKO sends for trial the file of the

GJKKO has submitted for trial the file of Sokol Idrizaj, the driver of the former Police Director, Ardi Veliu.

Idrizaj and his family members are accused of criminal group, smuggling of goods, misdeclaration of income, money laundering and unlicensed exercise of financial activities.

The Special Court has accepted the defendants' request for a shortened trial, where if they are convicted, they will receive 1/3 of the sentence.

Sokol Idrizaj and his family members were charged by SPAK, as they are suspected of being members of a criminal group. In the framework of this proceeding, a total of 12 people were arrested.

These persons are suspected of having transported stolen and valuable items from the French state to Albania, where they were sold secretly and smuggled through the jewelry store of the citizen Vangjush Kashari, who has the central store in Tirana.

SPAK's verifications showed that these groups, which were operating since before 2019, have transferred 724,386 euros to France for the purchase of items, a figure that belongs only to bank transactions, while the amounts in cash were transported across the state border in a way illegal amount to 2.1 million euros and 35,000 francs./ CNA
