Was consuming cocaine/ Officer expelled from police ranks

The State Police has announced that police officer Xh.T., who was filmed consuming cocaine, has been expelled from the ranks of the State Police.

"Regarding a video published on social networks, on 28.07.2025, in which a police officer appears, who from the footage is suspected of consuming narcotics, and with the claim that the Lezha Local Police Directorate has not reacted, we clarify to the public opinion that:

The citizen shown in the video has been expelled from the ranks of the State Police.

We also clarify that the Police employee Xh. T., before being given the measure "Exclusion from the Police", was under the effect of the disciplinary measure "Postponement of the promotion deadline for 3 months", given by decision no. 29, dated 24.04.2025, for failure to properly maintain the Police uniform and incorrect behavior towards superiors.

Also, the Directorate of Professional Standards has had in the process of reviewing/verifying and disciplinary investigation the Police employee, Inspector Xh. T., with the duty of General Patrol Officer in the Order Section, Lezha Police Commissariat, in the Lezha Local Police Directorate, for disciplinary violations provided for by article 121 "Types of disciplinary violations", point 1, letter "j", "Abandonment of duty and unjustified and continuous absence for a period of 7 working days or more", and by decision no. 127, dated 03.07.2025, of the Disciplinary Commission in the Directorate of Professional Standards, he was given the disciplinary measure "Exclusion from the Police", provided for by article 123, letter "e", of law no. 82/2024 "On the State Police".

Based on the law "On the State Police", the Police employee had the right to appeal the decision to the Appeals Commission at the General Directorate of the State Police, which on 25.07.2025, left in force the measure "Exclusion from the Police" for the Police employee Inspector Xh. T., taken by decision no. 127, dated 03.07.2025, by the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police.

"Following the publication of the video showing Police Officer Xh. T., who is suspected of consuming cocaine, other verifications are being carried out by the responsible structures of the AMP and the State Police, in order to which the materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further procedural follow-up," the police announced./ CNA
