Part of a criminal group that trafficked drugs/ 39-year-old arrested in Shijak, extradition to Italy awaited

A 39-year-old man, sentenced in Italy to 7 years, 7 months and 12 days in prison, for participating in a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics, was captured in a village in Shijak. 

Following successive operations to capture citizens declared internationally wanted, the structures of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force at the DPPSh, in collaboration with the Operational Services of the Durrës DVP, finalized the operation codenamed "Operational 57".     

During this operation, citizen Fatjan Stafa, 39 years old, resident of the village of Pjezë, Durrës, was captured in the village of Hardhisht, Shijak, and arrested with the aim of extradition to Italy.   

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Florence Court of Appeal, with the decision dated 08.10.2024, sentenced him to 7 years, 7 months and 12 days of imprisonment, for participation in a criminal organization for drug trafficking./ CNA
