CNA reported this Friday that an arsenal of weapons was seized in Kapshtica, for which the possessor was arrested, while his companion was also injured.

A few minutes ago, the police of Korça issued an official response to the seizure of the weapons, which published footage from the action.

The Blues report that they seized 3 automatic firearms, 1 pistol, combs for firearms and a quantity of combat ammunition. The weapons were hidden in the trunk of the car.

They have handcuffed citizens Xh. H., 41 years old, possessor of weapons and MV, 40 years old, passenger in the vehicle where the weapons were found.

The 41-year-old turns out to be a person with a criminal record, as he was previously convicted for the criminal offense of "criminal negligence".

The Border Police prevent and attack a case of an attempt to traffic firearms and ammunition from Albania to Greece.

The driver of the vehicle, with which the firearms and ammunition were to be trafficked, as well as one of his suspected accomplices, were arrested.

3 automatic firearms, 1 pistol, combs for firearms and a quantity of combat ammunition are seized.

As a result of the intensification of selective controls, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on illegal traffic and other border crimes, the services of the Kapshticë Border Police Station prevented and caught a case of an attempt to traffic firearms from Albania to Greece. As a result of the cooperation with the Illegal Traffic Investigation specialists of DVP Korçë, the citizens were arrested in the act:

- Xh. H., 41 years old (previously convicted for the criminal offense of "Discrediting the crime") and MV, 40 years old, both residents of Tirana.

Based on the risk analysis, the Border Police services selected the "Benz" type vehicle with driver Xh. H. and the 40-year-old passenger. During the scanner check, suspicions arose that illegal items were hidden in the back seat of the vehicle, and for this reason the police officers carried out a more detailed check where they found 3 automatic firearms, 1 pistol, 5 combs with cartridges and a quantity of combat ammunition , which together with the vehicle were seized as material evidence.

The work continues for the complete documentation of the event and the prosecution of other persons involved in this criminal activity.
