A gambling case was cracked down on in Korça, resulting in the arrest of two people and the search for another.

Also seized were 10 machines and 3 mobile phones used to organize gambling.

 

Police notification

The police operation codenamed "Slot Machine" is being finalized, also based on citizens' complaints and concerns.

2 citizens are arrested in flagrante delicto. The owner of the gambling machines is wanted. 10 machines and 3 mobile phones are seized.

Specialists of the Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Sector, in cooperation with the "Eagle" Special Force of the Korça Police Department, in continuation of the work to prevent and crack down on illegal activity in the field of gambling, have organized and conducted the police operation codenamed "Slot Machine".

During the operation, a case of illegal gambling was uncovered, through machines, in premises made available for this activity.

Following the actions, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:

Th. S., 53 years old, resident of Korça, for the criminal offenses of “Organizing illegal lotteries” and “Making premises available for illegal games”; (he rented out the premises where the machines were found)

M. Sh., 34 years old, resident of Korça, for the criminal offense of "Organizing illegal lotteries" (employed in the premises where the machines were installed).

DM, 50 years old, resident of Korça, was also wanted for the criminal offenses of "Illegal employment", "Hiding income", "Non-payment of taxes and duties",

“Organizing illegal lotteries” and “Making premises available for illegal games”.

These citizens, in collaboration with each other, were caught red-handed while organizing games of chance using slot machines, in violation of the law.

10 gambling machines and 3 mobile phones were seized as material evidence.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action./ CNA
