Wanted for assault and personal abuse/ 50-year-old man arrested

A 50-year-old man who was declared an international wanted man has been arrested as part of Operation "Operacionalja".

ZH, who is wanted by Italy, has been arrested after the Court of Siena sentenced him to 7 years in prison for domestic violence, sexual intercourse with violence, and injury.

The police operation codenamed "Operation 47" is being finalized by the Directorate of the Special Operational Force.

Sentenced in Italy to 7 years in prison for crimes against the person and sexual crimes, the 50-year-old is captured in Elbasan.

As a result of well-organized police actions and the rapid exchange of information with Italian partners, through the services of Interpol Tirana, the services of the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, within the framework of the operation "Operacionalja 47", arrested in Elbasan, the Albanian citizen, declared internationally wanted, on behalf of Italy, Zamir Halili, 50 years old.

The Court of Siena, Italy, sentenced him to 7 years in prison in 2014 for assault, domestic violence, and sexual assault. He has about 6 years and 9 months left to serve from this sentence.

Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome to finalize the extradition procedure of the 50-year-old to Italy.
