Megaoperation in Italy/ Albanian gang hit, 12 people arrested for drug

The Pescara Carabinieri have destroyed the Albanian clan that supplied drugs to the main areas of the city.

As a result, 12 people were arrested and large quantities of drugs were seized. They were placed under preventive detention.

The gang was mainly composed of Albanian citizens who had created an organized structure with headquarters and decision-making in Abruzzo, in particular in Montesilvano and Città Sant'Angelo, but with operational and logistical branches also in the provinces of Milan, Brescia and Varese, which aimed to purchase, produce, possess and then sell to third parties large quantities of narcotic substances, mainly of the cocaine and marijuana type, but also heroin and "amnesia", using compatriots and foreign citizens as couriers.

In particular, a note from the investigators states, the investigative activities allowed it to be established that the criminal gang had privileged commercial relations with stable criminal organizations, such as that of Rancitelli, composed of subjects of Roma ethnicity.

In addition, the criminal association trafficked narcotics in the Pescara and Montesilvano area, and cultivated large quantities of marijuana with the help of several people and a warehouse at their disposal in Piadena Drizzona (Cr) and used it exclusively as a greenhouse for the cultivation, drying and preparation of the narcotic substance.

The clan obtained cocaine from a supply channel in Lombardy, organizing trips from Abruzzo by renting vans, and sent part of the proceeds from the trade to Albania, and compared the types, qualities and prices of narcotics to be placed on the illegal market.

During investigative activities, 421 kg of marijuana and 2 kg of cocaine were seized, clear indicators of the organization's sustainability and organizational capacity."/ CNA
