Russian oil smuggled into the Port of Durrës/ The court leaves the captain of the ship in prison

The Durrës Court has imposed a prison sentence for the captain of the ship with the Liberian flag, which was blocked with 24,000 tons of contraband oil suspected of coming from Russia.

Meanwhile, the lawyers have requested security measures of house arrest, which means that the captain should stay on the ship.

The lawyer of the Russian captain, Artjon Beqiraj, has stated that the captain has not committed any violation.

"The captain has not committed any offense. VKM says that the ship should not be allowed to import oil, not blocked. In this particular case, we are only dealing with attempts since the ship was at the dock," said the lawyer.

We remind you that on Thursday the decision of the prosecutor Drini Pali was executed for the seizure of the ship with the Liberian flag, which was blocked with 24 thousand tons of contraband oil as it is suspected that it came from Russia./ CNA.al
