By truck to England/ Who is the Albanian teacher who was caught taking care of cannabis

An Albanian citizen has been arrested in Britain, after he was found taking care of more than 500 cannabis plants.

According to the British media, the arrested person is 28-year-old Kristian Zefi, who in Albania had the profession of a physical education teacher.

Zefi had entered Britain clandestinely. The PE teacher had traveled to England in the back of a lorry from France.

Prosecutor Stephen Welch said police executed a search warrant for cannabis at the premises in Popple Street, Hull, a large two-storey industrial building with around 12 rooms.

“As the police attempted to gain entry, the defendant climbed out of an upstairs window onto a flat roof in an attempt to escape he became distressed and jumped onto the roof of an adjacent building. He also made a call from his mobile phone. In the building, police found more than 500 cannabis roots, with a market value of around £275,000, he said.

The prosecutor clarified that the doors of the building were isolated, not to prevent Zefi from leaving, but to protect him and the cannabis from people who could attack them.

Persons entering or exiting the building, use the roof to exit. The British court sentenced Zefi to nine months in prison after pleading guilty. /CNA.al
