Lushnja Massacre/ The Supreme Court rejects Laert Haxhiu's appeal

The Supreme Court has rejected Laert Haxhiu's appeal and upheld his life sentence for the Lushnja Massacre.

Laert Haxhiu, together with Orges Bilbilin and Anterio Kaloshi, are accused of being the perpetrators of the Lushnja massacre, where Zamir Latifi and Jurgen Hoxha were killed on October 11, 2017 in Lushnja, but the target, Xhulio Shkurti, the nephew of Aldo Bare, the leader of the Lushnja gang, escaped. Marjus Xhepexhiu and Bujar Turku were injured in this assassination attempt.

Bilbili and Kaloshi have also been sentenced to life imprisonment for the serious incident. They are accused of the criminal offenses of "murder in qualifying circumstances of one or more persons", "Committing criminal offenses within the framework of a criminal group", "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disturbing public peace". /CNA
