The police of Tirana have arrested 11 people, and another has been declared wanted for carrying out the illegal activity of organizing and adapting the premises for sports lotteries.

During the checks carried out in various bars in Tirana, which were adapted for the organization of illegal lotteries, these citizens were caught red-handed exercising the illegal activity of gambling.

During the operation, 13 cell phones used for gambling, 224,000 new lek and 2,720 euros, suspected to have benefited from this illegal activity, were seized.

Police notification:

The Sector for the Investigation of Cyber ??Crimes, following the work to crack down on illegal gambling activities, within the framework of a criminal proceeding of 2024, followed by special methods of investigation, in cooperation with the Sector of the Force for Special Operations and Research , and the Special Force Sector "Eagle", has finalized the coded police operation "Big Match".

In the framework of this operation, after a well-organized investigative work, suspected subjects and citizens have been identified, who carry out the illegal activity of organizing and adapting premises for sports lotteries.

During the controls in these entities, the following citizens were caught and arrested in the act:

- AM, 49 years old, AS, 50 years old, DS, 48 years old, FK, 22 years old, HM, 28 years old, IS, 46 years old, KL, 25 years old, Sh. B., 60 years old, KB, 31 years old, R. Xh., 36 years old, and MD, 21 years old.

Also, citizens FS, 23 years old, and LK, 28 years old, were processed in a free state.

As part of this operation, IR citizen, 40 years old, was declared wanted.

During the checks carried out in various bars in Tirana, which were adapted for the organization of illegal lotteries, these citizens were caught red-handed exercising the illegal activity of gambling.

During the operation, 13 cell phones used for gambling, 224,000 new lek and 2,720 euros, suspected to have benefited from this illegal activity, were seized.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office, for further actions./ CNA
