From Ksamil to Velipoja, 24 vessels are blocked

The Border Police has blocked 24 vessels from Ksamil to Velipojë, during checks along the entire coastline, lake and river areas.

Specifically, 15 jet skis, 5 speedboats and 4 dinghies were blocked.

17 vessels are blocked from Ksamil to Vlora, 4 from Durres to Shengjin, while 3 are in Velipoja.

6 of the blocked vessels were found by the services of the Border Police and those of the Maritime Police Unit to be sailing within the security perimeter, a violation which endangered the lives of vacationers. The drivers of these vehicles were each punished with an administrative measure of 100,000 ALL.

The drivers of 18 other vessels, in addition to the measure of blocking the means, were each punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 ALL for lack of documentation.

Meanwhile, the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police throughout this week have come to the aid of tourists and visitors in 3 cases, helping and rescuing 4 citizens who sought help in the maritime space from Ksamil to Velipoja.

The Border Police appeals to all boat users to continue to follow the rules for the use of boats, to be equipped with rescue equipment, and to respect the designated areas for sailing with these boats, in order that they and holidaymakers others to be safe and calm./ CNA
