Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Gjirokastër, in cooperation with the Traffic Police Sector, following the work to prevent, identify and attack criminal activity in the field of smuggling of goods, based on informational intelligence, hit a case of smuggling, for which the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office and criminal proceedings were initiated in a free state for the citizen AB, 37 years old, resident in the village of Velabishte, Berat, for the criminal offense "Smuggling with other goods".

The AB citizen was caught in the act, on the Memaliaj-Krahës road axis, transporting small livestock by vehicle, which he had passed through the Kakavije Border Crossing Point, without completing the customs procedures. 

Following the actions, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office and criminal proceedings were also initiated against the citizen A. Ç., who is a customs officer of the Kakavije Customs Point, as it is suspected that he misused his duty by favoring the citizen AB, to pass small cattle, without completing the procedures customs.
