Corruption in the police/ Two officers from Durrës are under investigation

The Regional Directorate of the Durrës Police Supervision Agency referred the procedural materials to the Prosecutor's Office of the Durrës Judicial District for the police officers:

ES Inspector with the duty of Inspector of Urban and Interurban Traffic at the Durrës Local Police Directorate, suspected of having consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions";

SS Inspector with the duty of Inspector of Urban and Interurban Traffic at the Durrës Local Police Directorate, suspected of having consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions";

Materialet u referuan pasi në datë 16.01.2023 Drejtoria Rajonale AMP Durrës është vënë në dijeni të një video të publikuar në rrjetet sociale ku një shtetas i paidentifikuar denoncon me pamje filmike një rast të kontrollit të një drejtuese mjeti, kryer nga dy punonjës policie, dhe në video dyshohet për mitmarrje nga punonjësit e policisë.

From the totality of the first investigative actions carried out, reasonable doubts arise that the police officers have consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided for by Article 259 of the Criminal Code, while the citizen IH is suspected of having consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions" provided by article 244 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Professional Standards in the State Police has started the disciplinary investigation for the 2 Police employees.
