A 40-year-old citizen, internationally wanted by Finnish authorities for drug trafficking, was arrested today by Border Police services in Morinë.

The arrested person is citizen Sh.H., resident in Kosovo.

Following the arrest, procedures have also been initiated for his extradition to Finland through Interpol.

Announcement:

As a result of detailed controls and verifications at entry/exit, with the objective of cracking down on illegalities at the border, as well as detaining wanted citizens who attempt to move illegally to avoid criminal liability, the Morina Border Police services, in cooperation with the Kukës Border Police, apprehended at the entrance to the Republic of Albania and arrested with the aim of extradition, the following Kosovar citizen:

Sh. H., 40 years old, resident of Kosovo.

From the verifications carried out and from the information exchanged with Interpol Tirana, it resulted that this citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Southern District Prosecutor's Office of Helsinki has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on him, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in narcotics".

Interpol Tirana continues the procedures for the extradition of the 40-year-old to Finland./ CNA
