Sentenced to 20 years in prison for drugs/ The 54-year-old is arrested in

Elbasan police arrested 54-year-old Agron Çakalli, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison, for criminal activity in the field of narcotics. 

The Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes of Crete, Greece, sentenced the 54-year-old man to life imprisonment in 2016 for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in narcotic substances" and "Cultivation of narcotic plants".

However, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction has recognized this criminal decision and with the decision dated 17.04.2024, has converted the sentence of citizen Agron Çakalli to 20 years of imprisonment.

Police notification: 

Elbasan/The implementation of the measures defined in the nationwide operational plan "Rule of Law" continues with intensity.

Coded police operation "Convert" is completed.

Sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment, for criminal activity in the field of narcotics, the 54-year-old was arrested and put in handcuffs.

The Elbasan Police Station, following the operations for the capture of wanted citizens, which take place within the police mega-operation coded "Rule of Law", based on police intelligence on the location of a wanted citizen, have organized and finalized police operation codenamed "Convert".

As a result of the operation, the wanted citizen Agron Çakalli, 54 years old, resident of Elbasan, was arrested and detained.

The Court of Appeal for Serious Crimes, Crete, Greece, with the decision dated 02.12.2016, has sentenced this citizen to life imprisonment for the criminal offenses "Trafficking in narcotic substances" and "Cultivation of narcotic plants".

The Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction has recognized this criminal decision and with the decision dated 17.04.2024, has converted the sentence of citizen Agron Çakalli to 20 years of imprisonment.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, for further actions./CNA
