A State Police employee has been temporarily suspended from duty after appearing in a video posted on social media accepting money.

In a statement from the Tirana police, Inspector KK, on ??duty as a service officer at the Traffic Police, has been suspended until the case is fully clarified.

It is also announced that the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has immediately begun carrying out investigative and procedural actions, with the aim of clarifying and fully documenting the case.

Immediately after the publication on the JOQ social network of a video claiming that a Traffic Police employee committed a suspected illegal act while performing his duty, we inform you that:

The Director of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, in accordance with the State Police regulation, has immediately suspended from duty, until the case is fully clarified, the Police employee, Inspector KK, with duty as a service officer in the Traffic Police, at the Tirana Police Commissariat.

Also, the Directorate of Professional Standards at the General Directorate of the State Police, based on article 121, point "d", of Law No. 82/2024 "On the State Police", has immediately initiated investigative proceedings.

We are cooperating with the Police Supervision Agency (AMP), which has immediately begun carrying out investigative and procedural actions, with the aim of clarifying and fully documenting the case legally.

The State Police thanks the media and citizens who denounce cases of abuse of office by its employees, and once again invites them to continue reporting any such cases, guaranteeing an immediate, professional and impartial response. / CNA
