Raped journalist/ 51-year-old arrested

The citizen with the initials P.GJ, 51, has been arrested by the Shkodra Police after physically assaulting journalist ED due to his duty.

The incident occurred on the evening of May 18, 2026, at around 8:00 PM, in the "Skënderbeg" neighborhood, where the 51-year-old is suspected of punching citizen ED, 46 years old, a journalist by profession.

The conflict occurred due to the journalist's duty, and after a complaint and investigative actions, the police were able to arrest the suspected perpetrator.

"He physically raped a 46-year-old (journalist), due to duty, the 51-year-old was caught and put in handcuffs.    

The Crime Investigation Specialists of the Shkodra Police Commissariat arrested citizen P. Gj., 51 years old, resident of Shkodra, for the criminal offense of "Assault due to duty".    

This citizen is suspected of having punched citizen ED, 46 years old, a journalist, on 18.05.2026, at around 20:00, in the "Skënderbeg" neighborhood, due to his duty.

"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action," the police statement said./ CNA
