Two people are arrested in Elbasan for arson
Fires in Elbasan

The police of Elbasan have revealed 2 cases of arson that happened in the villages of the Papër administrative unit, and have identified the 2 perpetrators.

BH, 54 years old, a resident of the village of Papër, who allegedly started a fire on his land, in the village of Pajun, for burning waste, was caught by the police, but the fire got out of control and as a result a land surface with 267 olive trees. 

Meanwhile, Xh. was also arrested. S., 62 years old, a resident of the village of Bizhutë, after lighting a fire on his land to burn some garbage, and from the spread of the flames, 7 olive trees owned by a 58-year-old man were partially burned.

Police notification: 

????He lit a fire for burning waste on his land and as a result of the spread of the flames, an area of ??land with olive trees, owned by another citizen, was burned, the 54-year-old man was put in handcuffs.

The owner of the land with olives is prosecuted for not reporting the crime.

????He lit a fire on his land, for burning waste and as a result of the spread of the flames, some olive trees owned by another citizen were partially burned, the 62-year-old is being prosecuted.

Following the investigative work to identify and bring to the fore the legal responsibility of the perpetrators of arson, as well as as a result of the information and evidence provided by the Elbasan Police Station, for 2 cases of arson, the perpetrators of these cases were identified. Following the procedural actions for these cases:

- a citizen of BH, 54 years old, resident in the village of Papër, was arrested in the act. This citizen allegedly started a fire on his land, in the village of Pajun, to burn waste, but the fire got out of control and as a result, an area of ??land with 267 olive trees, owned by the citizen JV, was burned. Also, for this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where criminal proceedings were initiated against the owner of the land, citizen JV, since he did not report this case;

- referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where the criminal proceedings for the citizen Xh. S., 62 years old, a resident of the village of Bizhutë, after lighting a fire on his land to burn some garbage, and from the spread of the flames, 7 olive trees owned by a 58-year-old man were partially burned.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution of Elbasan, for further actions, for the criminal offense "Destruction of property by fire".

The Elbasan Local Police Department appeals to all residents, and in particular to those who use pasture land, not to cause arson under any circumstances, as they will face the law. The police invite citizens to report any case of arson and illegality at number 112. The reaction will be immediate and in accordance with the law./ CNA
