Accused of distributing pornographic materials/ 29-year-old arrested in Tirana

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in Tirana, as part of the international police operation codenamed "STREAM", against the sexual exploitation of minors on the internet. He is accused of distributing pornographic materials involving minors.

The police statement states that following information received from German police authorities and EUROPOL, investigative and procedural actions were carried out that led to the identification and arrest of the 29-year-old.

The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes investigates a case of dissemination of pornographic materials involving minors.

Following the intensive work to prevent and combat criminal activities in the field of cybercrime, the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes has executed the decision of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, for the arrest of citizen MZ, 29 years old, resident of Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Pornography", with minors.

The arrest was carried out as part of the international police operation codenamed “STREAM”, against the sexual exploitation of minors on the Internet, with the participation of law enforcement agencies from 35 countries, including the State Police. The operation was conducted under the direction of the Bavarian State Criminal Police and the Bavarian Central Office for the Prosecution of Cybercrime (ZCB), as well as with the support of EUROPOL.

Following information received from German police authorities and EUROPOL, the Cybercrime Investigation Directorate, in cooperation with the Special Operations Force Directorate, carried out investigative and procedural actions that led to the identification and arrest of citizen MZ.
