Zelensky: 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed on the battlefield since the start of the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that around 55,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in battle since the start of the war with Russia on February 24, 2022.

The statement was made in an interview that was broadcast this Wednesday on French television 'France 2'.

Zelensky stressed that this number includes both professional and mobilized soldiers, and that in addition to confirmed casualties, a large number of people are officially considered missing, meaning that the total human losses could be even greater.

The president did not provide further details on the military affiliation of the victims, but stressed that this figure reflects the great sacrifices of Ukrainian forces on the war front./CNA
