South Korean military apologizes after failed missile launch

South Korea's military has apologized for the failed launch of a missile during military exercises with the United States.

This missile launch has caused alarm among residents of the coastal city of Gangneung, as they heard a large explosion.

The military said the Hyunmoo-2 missile carried a nuclear warhead that did not explode, and apologized for the inconvenience caused.

However, the army, which said that there were no victims, did not acknowledge the incident until the early hours of Wednesday.
