After launching an intercontinental ballistic missile that landed in Japan's exclusive economic zone (EEZ), North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said his country would respond to continued threats using nuclear weapons. On the same day, images of Kim with his young daughter were released to the public for the first time.

"Kim Jong-un solemnly declared that if enemies continue to pose threats, our party and government will resolutely respond to nuclear weapons with nuclear weapons and full confrontation with all-out confrontation," state media reported the Korean Central News Agency ( KCNA) before adding that Kim attended Thursday's missile launch along with his daughter and wife.

North Korea's leader hit back at the US and Japan after the two allies held joint military exercises over the Sea of ??Japan on Friday. According to KCNA, Kim slammed the drills, calling them "aggression war drills"./ CNA.al
