"I came back for myself and Russian politics"/ What Navalny declared a
Alexey Navalny

Alexey Navalny, the Russian opposition, the strongest opponent of President Vladimir Putin, died yesterday in prison, where he was held for 3 years.

About a month ago, Navalny shared the reasons why he returned to Russia 3 years ago, even though he knew that a bad future awaited him.

In a status on social networks, he wrote on January 17 that there were two reasons that made him return. He declared that first he took that step for himself and secondly for Russian politics.

"'Why did you come back?'

To answer this question, I am also a little upset, about two things. The first - for myself, because I cannot find such words so that everyone can understand and stop looking. The second relates to the Russian policy of the last decades, which has instilled so much cynicism and conspiracy in society that people in principle do not believe in simple motives. Since I came back, they said he made a deal with someone. It just didn't work. Or it hasn't worked yet. There is a cunning plan involving the Kremlin towers. In any case, there is a secret. After all, not everything in politics is organized as it seems.

But there are no secrets and schemes. It really is that simple. I have my place and my beliefs. And I don't want to give up either the country or the beliefs. And I cannot betray either the first or the second. If your beliefs are worth anything, you should be ready to stand up for them. And if necessary, make some sacrifices. And if you are not ready, then you have no conviction. Just think they exist. These are not beliefs and principles, but thoughts in the head", said the Russian oppositionist.

Navalny said that his convictions are what made him openly oppose Putin and publicly demand a change of power.

He emphasized that Putin was lying to Russian citizens, while warning that one day the president would be overthrown.

"I took part in the elections and applied for leadership positions. My request is different. I went all over the country and everywhere I declared, "I promise I won't let you down, I won't deceive you, and I won't leave you." When I returned, I fulfilled my promise to my constituents. After all, those who do not lie to them must appear in Russia.

It turned out that in Russia now I have to pay for my right to have and not to hide my beliefs by being locked up in solitary confinement. And I certainly don't like being shut down. But I will not give up either my ideas or my homeland. My beliefs are neither exotic, nor sectarian, nor radical. Rather, everything I believe in is based on science and historical experience.

People in power must change. The best way to choose power is fair and free elections. Everyone needs a fair trial. Corruption is destroying a country. There should be no censorship. The future is based on these principles.

Sectarians and marginalists are now in power. They generally have no idea. The only goal is to stay in your seats. And hypocrisy brought to perfection will cover the truth. So, polygamy in our country has become conservative. Members of the CPSU are Orthodox. Holders of "golden passports" and offshore accounts are aggressive patriots.

Lies, lies and nothing but lies. They will crumble and crumble. Putin's state is unstable. One day we will look at his place and he will be gone. Victory is inevitable. But for now, you should not give up and stick to your convictions," the Russian oppositionist emphasized./ CNA
