Leaders of the Western Balkans and former German Chancellor Angela Merkel at the Summit

The leaders of the Western Balkans will sign three agreements at the summit in Berlin, which starts on November 3. The agreements will be for the mutual recognition of identity cards, university degrees and professional qualifications, announced German Government officials.

A government official in Berlin told Reuters that these are moves towards further integration and stability in the region, where even after the breakup of Yugoslavia and the inter-ethnic wars of the 1990s, tensions have not ended.

Siç shpjegoi ai, qëllimi është që Serbia, Mali i Zi, Bosnjë e Hercegovina, Maqedonia e Veriut, Kosova dhe Shqipëria t’i afrohen anëtarësimit në Bashkimin Evropian, për shkak të frikës nga ndikimet gjithnjë e më të shtuara të Rusisë dhe Kinës në rajon.

Kjo ka të bëj sidomos me Serbinë, e cila u bombardua nga NATO-ja dy dekada më parë dhe e cila kërkon të baraspeshojë lidhjet historikisht të ngushta me Rusinë dhe aspiratat për integrim ekonomik dhe politik me Perëndimin.

Siç raporton Reuters, zyrtari i Qeverisë gjermane tha se Serbia duhet të vendosë nëse dëshiron të anëtarësohet në Bashkimin Evropian apo të hyjë në një partneritet me Rusinë.

“Nevoja për të marrë një vendim del në pah marrë parasysh ngjarjet gjeopolitike”, tha zyrtari gjerman, duke iu referuar luftës së Rusisë kundër Ukrainës.
