The number of people who died from oppression during the night of the Halloween celebration (Halloween Night) in the capital of South Korea, Seoul, has reached 151.

82 others are reported to have been injured, writes the BBC.

According to the BBC, until now, the police have received 2,900 reports from relatives about their relatives who have not yet returned home, while the authorities continue to work to find them.

Footage from Seoul shows dozens of covered corpses, emergency officials helping the injured and people helping each other to escape the crush, Radio Free Europe reports.

They flocked, many in costume, to the Itaewon district, a popular nightlife hub in the South Korean capital, where many streets are narrow. But in the midst of Halloween festivities, those alleys turned into a death trap.
