Serbia-Kosovo tensions/ No agreement prevents special units from going north

No document or agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia in the framework of the dialogue for the normalization of relations does not prevent Kosovo from sending or deploying special units of its police in the north of the country - an area inhabited by a majority of Serbs.

This is what they say in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kosovo, after the constant insistence of Serbian officials - including President Aleksandar Vucic and Prime Minister Ana Bërnabiq - that Kosovo does not have the right to do such a thing, based on the Brussels Agreement of 2013 .

“Qëllimi i Vuçiçit është që, përmes dezinformimit, të shkaktojë konfuzion dhe pasiguri te qytetarët serbë në Kosovë. Nuk ka asnjë marrëveshje, asnjë dokument apo dakordim për atë që thotë Vuçiç, që Njësia Speciale [e Policisë së Kosovës] nuk mund të shkojë në veri të vendit”, thotë për Radion "Evropa e Lirë" Nora Fetoshi, këshilltare për media e ministrit të Brendshëm të Kosovës, Xhelal Sveçla.

Në disa raste, autoritetet në Serbi kanë deklaruar se institucionet e Kosovës nuk kanë të drejtë të dërgojnë forca speciale të policisë në komunat veriore: Mitrovicë e Veriut, Zveçan, Zubin Potok dhe Leposaviq, por nuk kanë specifikuar se në cilin nen apo dispozitë të Marrëveshjes së Brukselit thirren.

Ngjashëm kanë pohuar edhe ditëve të fundit, kur situata e sigurisë në veri ka shkuar duke u tensionuar.
